2.2 - MEMBERSHIP FEES

The administrative fee (membership to the association) of 40€ per year is compulsory to be able to benefit from our rates, our teachings and cultural activities. It is valid for one year, for one person only, and cannot be transferred to someone else. They must be paid at the time of order, at the same time as the course or pre-registration. They are not refundable.

The pedagogical documentation of 40€ is compulsory. It includes a textbook, a workbook and access to the My Alliance learning platform.

At each new level (CECRL), the student will have to pay the documentation fee to obtain the new material corresponding to his/her level. This fee must be paid at the same time as the course or pre-registration. It is non-refundable.

Students who have taken courses in another AF in France or abroad during the same calendar year are exempt from the registration fee since they are already members of an Alliance Française in the world (proof to be provided).

2.3 - COURSE SCHEDULE

The AF operates in 4-week sessions. Registration is possible for a minimum of one week. The start dates of the beginner sessions are specified in the course calendar and must be respected.

Public holidays are made up in the form of workshops or deducted from the course in advance. An extension of the course can also be offered.

  • an identity document: valid identity card or residence permit, passport with visa for the duration of the studies
  • the receipt of payment and the pre-registration certificate.

Students who are not beginners will have to take a level test (online test or at the Alliance Française) to be assigned to a course that corresponds exactly to their level.

2.5 - SPECIAL RATES

To benefit from the discounted rates, the courses must be taken continuously and the amount must be paid in one go at the beginning of the course.

A 15% discount is granted to students from the Normandy Region, only on general and evening courses, upon presentation of a valid student card.

2.7 - EXAMS

Payment for exams is made at the time of registration. The price of the exam preparation courses does not include the exam registration.

3/ ACCOMMODATION

With the help of a professional service provider (Accueil à la Carte), the Alliance Française de Normandie assists students in their search for accommodation. Depending on the date of the request and the availability of the desired accommodation, it is possible that the service provider will not be able to find accommodation for the student or accommodation that corresponds exactly to his/her wishes, especially when the request is sent to the Alliance Française less than one month in advance.

An accommodation search fee (60€) must be paid in advance. This fee is not refundable.

The cancellation conditions and security deposits of other accommodation providers (student residences, hotel residences, studios) are not the responsibility of the Alliance Française but are defined exclusively by them.

It will be mandatory for any student wishing to obtain accommodation through the Alliance Française de Normandie to present a certificate of civil liability insurance before his/her arrival in France.

The student will have to contact the host family directly to give his or her arrival dates and times at least 8 days in advance.

4/ INSURANCE

The student must take out an individual insurance policy covering all the risks of his/her trip and stay, in French or in English. This insurance is compulsory and is the responsibility of the student, regardless of the length of his/her stay.

A person who has not taken out individual insurance will assume all costs related to damage that he/she may accidentally cause.

5/ MODIFICATIONS

The administration reserves the right to modify the rates, dates or formulas of the courses without prior notice.

6/ POSTPONEMENT - REFUND - CANCELLATION OF COURSES

6.1- BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE COURSE

6.1.1- The student has the right to postpone his/her registration for the course for a maximum of 12 months, subject to the receipt by the Alliance Française de Normandie of a written request at least 15 working days before the initially scheduled start date of the course.

6.1.2- The student has the right to cancel his/her registration and request a full refund, provided that the Alliance Française de Normandie receives a written request at least 30 working days before the initially scheduled course start date.

6.1.3- In case of cancellation less than 30 days before the beginning of the course, a flat fee of 150 € for administrative costs will be withheld from the refund.

6.1.4- In case of non-obtainment of the visa, the student can be reimbursed only on presentation of a justification (written notification from the visa service). A flat fee of 150€ for administrative costs will be retained.

6.2- AFTER THE COURSE HAS STARTED

In all circumstances, any course session (4 weeks) started by the student is due in its entirety.

Except in cases of force majeure, which are subject to the discretion of the management, no reduction in the total duration of the course and the number of sessions paid for is possible. In the case of an agreement of the management for an early departure with refund, a fixed sum calculated in proportion to the cancelled sessions will be retained. In addition, the fees will be readjusted according to the actual duration of the courses attended.

In case of repeated unjustified absences or early departure not authorized by the management, no course postponement or refund will be made.

If the student has obtained an entry visa or a residence permit for France with a certificate from the Alliance Française de Normandie, he/she must attend the course for the duration and in the form indicated on the certificate issued.

If he/she fails to do so, the Alliance Française Normandie will be obliged to report him/her to the Prefecture of Seine Maritime and the competent authorities.

6.3- SPECIFIC CASE FOR À LA CARTE COURSES

Postponements of courses may be authorized provided that the request for postponement is made at least 24 working hours (not including weekends) before the scheduled time of the course. Otherwise, the hours will be considered used up and cannot be refunded or postponed.

6.4- LATE OR CANCELLED TESTS AND EXAMS

Candidates are called to the exam at a specific date and time. This invitation cannot be changed and a late arrival or absence will result in direct elimination from the exam.

Examination fees are neither refundable nor transferable, regardless of the reasons for the delay, absence, withdrawal or inability to attend the test.

In the event of a duly justified case of force majeure (medical or professional certificate, transport strike without notice, etc.), a postponement of the examination to the next session may be proposed.

7/ DISCIPLINE AND ATTENDANCE

In the event of misconduct or abnormal behavior on the part of the student, the Alliance Française de Normandie reserves the right to interrupt the student's training without notice or reimbursement. The same will apply in the case of a student's failure to comply with the school's internal rules or the rules of the accommodation provider.

The student will obtain a certificate of completion of the course. This certificate also mentions the rate of attendance to the hours provided in the training program.

8/ USE OF THE IMAGE

Unless otherwise stated by the student, the Alliance Française may take pictures of the students in order to use them for its social networks, brochures, advertising or its website. The student must notify us in writing of his/her refusal to use his/her image upon registration.

9/ RIGHT OF ACCESS TO COMPUTERIZED FILES GDPR

The information requested from the student at the time of registration is transmitted only to those individuals or legal entities who are expressly authorized to know it. Any student may ask the school to communicate information concerning him/her and have it rectified or deleted if necessary, in application of the provisions of law N°78-17 of January 6, 1978 on information technology.
